The seductive lure of Italy and a passion for travel drew interior designer Frank Ponterio to Parma, home of Casa Bertazzoni. As principal of Frank Ponterio Interior Design, Frank has always felt the pull to explore the world for inspiration, both personally and professionally. So when he and his family were invited to visit Casa Bertazzoni to experience a journey through the values of the brand, it was a great chance to continue his quest for adventure and creative musings.

From the minute he arrived in Parma, Bertazzoni Style and Brand Director Valentina Bertazzoni had arranged to fully immerse Frank and his family in the country’s traditions—ones that have shaped generations of Bertazzoni designs as well as its current complete suite of kitchen products.

Casa Bertazzoni is the company’s design studio and culinary center, but also so much more. It is where Italian culture and heritage meet and where design is translated for the modern day. “Entering Casa Bertazzoni was a dramatic experience,” says Frank. “We were greeted by Valentina and her father, Paolo, who took time out of their busy workday to show us around, starting with a short look back at the history of the company followed by a tour of today’s modern appliances that combine cutting-edge capabilities with an authentic Italian experience. Bertazzoni truly embraces innovation.”

“Bertazzoni appliances forge a connection to an authentic Italian experience—one manifested in a wonderful meal surrounded by family.”—Frank Ponterio

Frank and his family were treated to an authentic Italian experience, embodying the rich culinary culture, pride in craftsmanship, and the omnipresent sense of elegant aesthetics that is seen in all Bertazzoni designs. From exclusive cooking classes with Casa Bertazzoni resident chef Tommaso to rustic meals hand-selected by the Bertazzoni family to expeditions of authentic Italian sites, these travels gave him a taste of the region that has influenced the Italian kitchen appliance maker for more than 130 years. “Witnessing firsthand how the Bertazzoni family enjoys life and each other was a delight. Their love of life, family, and Italy is evident in their company’s work. Not only are Bertazzoni kitchen suite appliances an extension of this lifestyle but they are also a physical representation of living life to the fullest,” says Frank.
